【Intended Use】
For the qualitative detection of Rabies Virus antigen in canine or feline saliva samples using Colloidal Gold-based Lateral Flow Immunoassay.
【Test Principle】
This test kit is based on the principle of Colloidal Gold-based Lateral Flow Immunoassay. Samples of canine (or feline) saliva are collected using a cotton swab. The diluted sample then moves forward on the nitrocellulose membrane under capillary action. When RBV antigen is present in the sample, it binds to the colloidal gold-labeled antibodies conjugated to the test line. The formed immune complex migrates to the test line on the nitrocellulose membrane, where it is recognized and bound by the coated antibodies, forming a purple-red test line, indicating a positive result for rabies virus antigen. If the test line does not develop color, the result is negative. Additionally, the nitrocellulose membrane is coated with anti-chicken, anti-sheep, and anti-mouse IgG antibodies as a control line, serving as an indication of normal chromatography process.
【Instructions for Use】
Please read the operation steps and precautions carefully before use. Before starting the test, ensure that the unopened test strips and samples have reached room temperature (15–30℃).
Saliva Sample Testing
1. Sample Collection: Use the designated cotton swab to collect an appropriate amount of saliva from the dog (or cat).
2. Immerse the swab into the diluent tube, rotate for 10 seconds, and let stand for 1 minute. The supernatant will be used as the test solution. Discard the swab after use.
3. Open the test cassette and place it on a flat surface.
4. Use the dropper to apply 4 drops of the test solution into the sample well, then start the timer.
5. Results must be read between 10 and 15 minutes after sample application. Do not interpret results after 15 minutes.
